We are seeking a highly experienced Associate – Dry Utilities to join our Transport & Infrastructure business unit in Dubai This senior role will oversee the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of major dry utilities infrastructure across large-scale infrastructure and land development projects in the Middle East.
The successful candidate will bring 15+ years of experience in dry utilities engineering—covering electrical, telecom, street lighting, and related networks—with extensive hands-on work on UAE-based projects. You will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence, managing multidisciplinary delivery teams, engaging with authorities, and supporting business growth.
This is a key leadership position within the consultancy, offering the opportunity to influence strategic directions, mentor engineering teams, and deliver high-impact infrastructure programmes.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and direct the design and delivery of major dry utilities networks including:
- High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV)
- Street lighting, telecommunication, and ICT networks
- Oversee the development and review of design reports, calculations, models, drawings, and tender documents for concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages.
- Ensure all project designs align with Abu Dhabi authority standards (ADDC, ADWEA, Etisalat, Du, ADM) and relevant international codes.
- Provide senior-level technical assurance, validating engineering solutions and ensuring quality across project deliverables.
- Support the resolution of complex engineering challenges through innovative and sustainable design approaches.
Project & Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination across civil, highways, structures, geotechnical, wet utilities, and architectural teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Collaborate with project managers on planning, risk analysis, resourcing, scheduling, and budget oversight.
- Manage design interfaces and ensure alignment between various project components.
- Participate in and lead progress meetings, workshops, and technical briefings with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
Authority & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead authority submission strategies, ensuring accurate and complete documentation aligned with Abu Dhabi requirements.
- Engage directly with key authorities to secure approvals, presenting technical designs and managing technical clarifications.
- Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth project progress.
Leadership, Mentoring & Quality
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineering and CAD teams, fostering technical excellence and knowledge-sharing within the Dry Utilities discipline.
- Conduct technical reviews, ensuring compliance with internal QA/QC procedures and project-specific requirements.
- Support team capability building, identify training needs, and guide the development of junior talent.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree advantageous).
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in dry utilities design and delivery within an engineering consultancy.
- Extensive experience working on UAE infrastructure and land development projects with a detailed understanding of local approval processes.
- Strong technical knowledge of dry utilities systems, electrical design principles, and infrastructure integration.
- Proficiency in industry software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Dialux, ETAP, Amtech, and other relevant design tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, report writing, and client-facing skills.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination and deliver complex, large-scale projects.
