Summary You will lead social strategy, content, community, and performance, while developing a high-caliber, multidisciplinary social team.
You will guide the launch and evolution of social brands and channels, ensuring the brand shows up with intention, humanity, and cultural relevance.
This role transforms community from a reactive function into a creative, culturally fluent growth engine one that builds connection, advocacy, and lasting brand love.
Core Responsibilities 1.
Social Strategy, Culture & Crisis • Shape and execute social strategy across existing and new brands • Activate major cultural, platform, and industry moments with relevance and speed • Guide the brand through political, cultural, or reputational moments with sound judgment, navigating ambiguity and stakeholder expectations to align teams around clear direction • Own social listening strategy to anticipate risks, spot opportunities, and inform responses • Partner with PR, legal, and brand teams on escalation and crisis response frameworks 2.
Content & Creative Leadership • Oversee social content strategy across platforms and formats • Own the social editorial vision across platforms, setting the creative standard for quality, tone, and cultural relevance • Balance speed, experimentation, and brand integrity across always-on and campaign content 3.
Community, Brand Love & Earned Impact • Lead community management as a strategic, creative discipline • Design and oversee community-led activations that drive brand love, advocacy, and earned media • Develop strategic gifting, outreach, and superfans programs • Champion community-sourced content, conversation formats, and storytelling • Ensure the brand shows up with humanity 4.
Tools, Data & Best Practice • Own best practices across social tools, workflows, and governance • Lead dashboarding, reporting, and data visualization • Translate performance and insights into clear narratives for senior stakeholders • Ensure ways of working actively power tools for efficiency, insight, and scale 5.
People Leadership & Team Growth • Manage and develop community managers, social planners, and creators • Develop the team’s technical excellence and emotional maturity, enabling sound judgment, ownership, and sustainable performance • Foster a culture of psychological safety, accountability, and ambition • Lead with compassion, clarity, and purpose 6.
