About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Assistant Manager – Contracts & Control to Join Dubai Holding Asset Management. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
- Participate and formulate the Department strategies in line with the vision and mission of the company and ensure implementation of key strategic elements.
- Participate and contribute to setting Departmental objectives / KPI and ensure timely execution as per set plans.
- Lead and develop the preparation of 5 year business plan -cash flow for DHAM developments on a quarterly basis in coordination with the relevant departments.
- Lead all pre & post contract administration procedures, including but not limited to, preparation of tender documents, conducting meetings and negotiations with key partners (Pre & Post contract), dispute resolution, variations, contract addendums/renewals, consultancy agreement, projects cash flow, payment certification and handling construction claims and ensure all activities adhere to the set quality standards and practices
- Develop the commercial strategy of contracts for multiple projects, working closely with Development & Technical Services team to drive performance and minimize risk to the business
- Lead and provide direction and impetus to cost saving initiatives of the Company to ensure the expenditures do not exceed the budgets, monitor the expense plans, major expenditure proposals and track variances
- Track and monitor variances in contract performance and recommend corrective action to minimize such variations. Manage disputes by avoidance, settlements, negotiation, arbitration etc, through effective coordination with legal teams
- Act as function expert for all high value contracts entered into by the company by providing specialist advice and guidance on different contracting strategies and contractual obligations, with the objective of preventing any loss to the company and protecting the company from exposure to financial and operational risks.
- Ensure full implementation of the Delegation of Authority Matrix elements related to the department & organization.
- Oversee all aspects of service agreements with external/outsourced vendors including contract development, staff augmentation, performance and SLA management and maintenance. Including leading external vendors in pursuit of delivering on project objectives.
- Oversee the tendering process and negotiate with consultant / contractors to obtain optimal value and continuously interact with team and provide expert contractual/commercial advice for resolving any disputes that may arise, to the best advantage of the company, in order to achieve an amicable solution and settlement
- Direct , Develop and recommend policies and procedures for creating a robust pre-qualification checklist for existing and future Vendor/Consultant /Contracts so as to ensure the selection of only reliable Consultant/contractors who are cost-effective and are always available to meet the requirements
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Quantity Survey/Civil Engineering or equivalent
Min 6 to 8 years of experience in Quantity Surveying and Contract Managements - Experience in managing contracts from project initiation to close out phases on large (AED200m+ projects) infrastructure/building projects
