  Role Summary: An Accountant will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month-end close processes.
This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and leadership teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare and review accurate monthly financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Record journal entries and perform detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances.
Maintain the general ledger by ensuring proper classification of transactions and consistent application of accounting policies.
Analyze delivery-related operating costs such as driver wages, fuel, vehicle expenses, maintenance, insurance, and third-party carrier fees; monitor trends and explain variances.
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
Assist with tax compliance, including sales/use tax, payroll tax, and coordination with external tax advisors.
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to support business growth and efficiency.
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support operations, budgeting, and management decision-making.
Requirements Qualifications: Chartered Accountant Certification or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
At least 3 years in in accounts receivable and payable functions.
Logistics industry expertise is a plus.
Proven expertise in a similar role, preferably within the logistics industry.
Advanced proficiency in Office, accounting, and ERP tools, with strong Excel skills.
Knowledge of invoicing and billing procedures, with the ability to interpret commercial and legal terms.
Proficiencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
