Role Overview


We are seeking a committed and detail‑oriented HACCP & Worker Welfare Assistant Manager to support the effective delivery of our organisation’s food safety and worker welfare programmes across operations, suppliers, and contractors. This role focuses on operational assurance through inspections, audits, monitoring, data management, and follow‑up of corrective actions.


Working closely with the HACCP & Worker Welfare Manager, you will help maintain compliance with food safety standards, ethical worker welfare requirements, and internal policies. You will actively engage with operational teams, suppliers, and contractors, serving as a visible and professional advocate for safe, fair, and responsible working conditions.


This position is ideal for an individual with strong attention to detail, a practical approach to assurance, and a genuine commitment to food safety and worker wellbeing.


Key Responsibilities


HACCP & Food Safety


  • Support the delivery of the F&B supplier audit programme, including scheduling, site visits, evidence collection, and reporting.
  • Conduct food safety inspections and audits in line with approved checklists and procedures.
  • Plan and schedule supplier audits based on risk assessment and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop corrective action plans and ensure timely implementation.
  • Assist with hazard analysis activities, CCP monitoring, verification checks, and system reviews.
  • Record, track, and follow up non‑conformances and corrective actions, escalating high‑risk or overdue issues.
  • Support investigations into food safety incidents and complaints, ensuring documentation of findings and actions.

Worker Welfare


  • Undertake worker welfare monitoring across accommodation, transport, welfare facilities, working conditions, and wellbeing provisions.
  • Identify, record, and escalate worker welfare concerns, supporting corrective action planning and closure.
  • Engage with contractors and suppliers to promote fair treatment, dignity, and compliance with welfare standards, including conducting interviews.

Reporting & Documentation


  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to audits, inspections, welfare monitoring, and corrective actions.
  • Support the preparation of performance reports, dashboards, and trend analysis for management review.
  • Ensure information is stored and controlled in line with management system requirements.

Continuous Improvement


  • Collaborate with HSE, Operations, Procurement, and suppliers to support compliance and improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen systems and practices.
  • Promote a positive culture of food safety and worker welfare through professional conduct and consistent standards.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills


Essential 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Any qualification in the HSE field.
  • Valid UAE driving license.

Desirable


  • Basic knowledge of labour laws, occupational health and safety standards, and workers’ rights.
  • Level 4 Food Safety qualification.
  • Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 22000:2018 or any ISO standard.

Experience


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food safety auditing, quality assurance, or supplier management within the food industry.

Desirable


  • Experience in labour and welfare monitoring or similar roles.

Essential Skills


  • Must have own transport and ability to travel to site locations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, South Indian languages, etc.

Desirable Skills


  • Experience in developing and implementing worker welfare programmes.
