Job Purpose

To supervise safe and efficient execution of ADD maintenance program (preventive, corrective, breakdown, and predictive maintenance) repair works for all Process Control Systems and Fire and Gas systems at respective Distribution Depots/Terminals, LPG Plants while ensuring optimum utilization of resources. In Addition, responsible for liaising with all stakeholders and other maintenance departments to ensure reducing the downtime of the critical systems at respective locations and facilities in assigned region with fully comply with ADD HSE and Asset integrity & process safety standards and procedures.
The Supervisor, Maintenance (Instrumentation) is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and repair works for all instruments used for measurement and control within the service station. This includes ensuring the accuracy and reliability of pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and control systems.
The role includes detailed contract management, inventory oversight, and support for new projects and modifications, all while adhering to stringent safety and quality standards established by ADNOC Distribution. The supervisor will also coordinate with HSE to ensure all activities are conducted safely and train technicians to uphold the highest standards of maintenance and operational efficiency.




KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Instrumentation Maintenance Supervision



• Oversees and supervise the service, repair and maintenance activities of all Instrumentation and Control systems including Field Instruments, Emergency Shutdown systems, Fire & Gas systems, Fire alarm panels, UPS systems, Veeder root system, in the respective locations and regions.
• Allocate work to assigned technician, ensure availability of critical materials and follow-up to ensure satisfactory completion and participate in the diagnosis of faults and troubleshooting.
• Inspect and test completed works to ensure that it has been carried out in accordance with requirements and that equipment performs satisfactorily, prior to handing back to end users.
• Install, maintain or repair, in field or in the workshop, a variety of electronic and pneumatic instrumentation.


• Test and calibrate the electronic and pneumatic instruments related to the process variables (Level, Pressure, Flow, Temperatures).
• Run diagnostic programs for the(SCADA) data acquisition system and the programmable logic controller (PLC) , Distributed control systems (DCS) to carry out maintenance.
• Issue comprehensive daily activity reports outlining the cause of the fault, the nature of the work and the materials, Manpower and time taken to complete the task.
• Reviews and ensure to execute all daily work orders received from respective locations, for any maintenance works required with coordination with Maintenance Planning team for scheduling and implementation of required repair and maintenance works.
• Coordinates with stakeholders for any troubleshooting required and all repairs, replacement, modification, calibration, overhauling to ensure smooth progress with minimum downtime.
• Provide technical assistance and support as required, to the stakeholders during process shut down, start up, recommissioning, commissioning activities.


• Ensures all works are performed in accordance ADNOC work management system (WMS) requirements including proper hazard evaluations of job safety analyses and risk assessment for specific tasks.
• Ensures that any breakdowns in his area of responsibility are attended promptly and ensure the operation returned to service as soon as possible.
• Monitoring the subordinates during the execution and provide technical advice during troubleshooting, repairs, replacement for work progress till completion.
• Attend the YTT meetings with all stakeholder and coordinates with Depot/ terminal Supervisors and LPG plants on the status of facility, preventive and repair work scheduling, processing of work orders safely.
• Regularly conduct a Toolbox talk meeting with subordinate to reinforce ADNOC lifesaving rules and highlight the risk associated during the work and mitigation plan.
• Handles the administrative works related to instrument and control systems like preparing and generating SWO’s, Method statements, initiate invoices after completion of maintenance works (inhouse or contracted).
• Diagnose, analyse, and carry out root cause failure (RCA) analysis with reporting, reasons for equipment failure and advise on remedial measures to avoid failures. Also, to study and carry out residual life assessment of critical instrument equipment and suggest corrective action in coordination with the technical department engineers.
• Maintain all business-critical instrument related equipment in line with HSECES guidelines and ensure compliance to Minimum Assurance Tasks and reliability requirements.




• Ensure smooth integration of new facilities such as modification/ upgradation of existing and additional facilities with support of project division.


• Provide assist in projects execution for forthcoming new projects being implemented, monitor construction & commissioning activities, as applicable with in other trades, and ensure that these activities are carried out in accordance with work management system.
• Support the project team during site engineering studies (HAZOP, HAZID, Alarm Management, PSSR) and determine the feasibility of introducing to our operations.
• Facilitate the instrument technicians to ensure the enhancement of their technical capabilities and to provide them with the needed technical direction and support.


• Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures, modification of functional processes and follow MOC if needed.
• Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition.


Continuous Improvement, Reporting, and Analysis
• Prepares total actual cost of works, including manpower, equipment, spare parts, daily work activities, daily overtime of craftsmen, and monthly work orders report, and submits to Maintenance Planning Section.
• Assists in establishing methods, controls, and standards for the actual execution of maintenance work.
• Periodically reviews the condition of SS instruments and systems for their performance in terms of efficiency and reliability and advises Team Leader for planning for replacement or upgrade.


Contract Management
• Prepares the scope of work for third-party and in-house jobs, inspects completed work, and prepares completion certificates.
• Conducts inspections to ensure safety and quality of work meet stringent ADNOC Distribution standards.


Inventory Management
• Reviews and monitors spare part inventory to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
• Recommends additional parts to be stocked based on usage and forecasted needs.
• Advises on minimum and maximum stock levels to maintain operational efficiency.


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:


• 3 Year Higher Diploma or 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Instruments Engineering.


• 5 years of experience post Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years experience post Diploma in Electrical Maintenance department in Oil and Gas Industry or Petrochemical industry.
