About the Role




As Director of Sales & Marketing, you will lead all hotel sales and marketing activities, ensure effective coordination with the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Group Marketing team, and drive market share growth while maximizing revenue and profitability.








Key Responsibilities





  • Maintain and promote a teamwork environment with effective and clear communication amongst co-workers and hotel.

  • Prepare and execute annual sales plan break down as necessary by division and/or department.

  • Formulate and implement effective strategies to drive sustainable and profitable growth across both room sales, especially in corporate and group segments, and ancillary revenue streams.

  • Analyze and study market trends including political, economic, competitive developments, set targets accordingly and lead proactive initiatives to respond to the shifting conditions.

  • Constantly monitor and evaluate local, domestic, and international market trends, and the competitor hotels’ sales initiatives, to make sure the hotel's sales and marketing remain competitive and cutting edge.

  • Examine sales and forecast reports to analyze current and potential marketing trends/opportunities.

  • Remain updated on competitors' offerings and market trends strongly and deliver regular insights and actions on competitive positioning.

  • Coordinate various activities to increase revenue and market share, plus monitor progress to ensure performance meets or exceeds established revenue plans.

  • Manage all sales strategy, tactics, and action implementations to create a strong and disciplined sales team who achieve their sales goals.

  • Train and motivate employees of sales and marketing department to achieve hotel revenue targets ensuring every employee has access to the necessary information, market data, various tools, and equipment to fulfill their job responsibilities.

  • Establish and maintain contact with key customers and external stakeholders to increase business volume, including room sales and catering sales.

  • Understands the marketing and rent of real estate that includes furnished apartments, residences, offices, and shops.

  • Supervise various marketing activities of Marketing Department and maintain the hotel’s image strongly.

  • Drive events sales activities and leverage the opportunities to maximize banquet revenues and profits.

  • Identify and develop collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders and leverage these partnerships to drive revenue and brand positioning as a luxury brand.

  • Share market insights and collaborate closely with the VP Operations & General Manager, Shangri-La Dubai, Director of Revenue Optimization, and cross-functional teams to guide key business decisions.

  • Work closely with other Executive Committee members in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.

  • Take responsibility for overall branding, revenue, and sales channels optimization of the hotel while leading the Marketing Department.






About You





  • Have proven track record in driving revenue growth and market expansion in an international 5* luxury property.

  • Has strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

  • Experience in openings, positioning, and major refurbishment projects will be an asset

  • Strong team player, able to collaborate with colleagues in other Divisions and achieve common goals

  • Is self-driven, goal-oriented, willing to challenge the status quo.

  • Have agility to act against the market and trend.

  • Uphold professional values, ethics, and integrity at all times.

  • Ability to network, building strong & meaningful business relationships.

  • Have experience in Dubai. Additional experience in other GCC countries is plus.
