Job Summary: Our client is a well-established insurance broker based in Dubai, offering tailored personal and commercial insurance solutions across the UAE.
They are seeking an Assistant Motor Underwriter to support their growing team in Dubai.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in the insurance industry in a similar role, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to provide administrative and operational support to both the underwriting team and clients.
The Assistant Motor Underwriter will provide critical support to the motor underwriting function by assisting with quotations, data collection, policy administration, and client servicing.
The role involves collaboration with brokers, clients, and internal departments to ensure underwriting operations are carried out efficiently and in compliance with local insurance regulations.
Key Responsibilities Quotations & Risk Assessment Assist in preparing competitive quotations for individual and fleet motor risks.
Gather and analyse information such as claims history, driver experience, and vehicle specifications.
Support accurate rating and adherence to underwriting guidelines.
Policy Issuance & Administration Assist in drafting and issuing motor policies, renewals, and endorsements.
Maintain precise records of all underwriting transactions in compliance with local insurance regulations.
Process mid-term adjustments including additions, deletions, and corrections.
Broker and Client Support Respond promptly to broker and client queries regarding motor policies and coverage details.
Maintain positive relationships by ensuring high standards of customer service and response times.
Compliance & Reporting Ensure all underwriting decisions are fully compliant with UAE Insurance Authority (IA) regulations.
Support the team in maintaining accurate and auditable documentation for internal and regulatory reviews.
Prepare and update underwriting reports and loss ratio trackers as required.
Skills & Experience Required Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Insurance, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience: 1 year in motor underwriting, insurance operations, or broking (UAE/GCC experience preferred).
Knowledge of UAE motor insurance products (Individual & Fleet).
Regulatory: Understanding of UAE insurance regulations and documentation requirements.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with insurance portals/systems Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi is required Key Attributes Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
