About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design System Manager to lead and accelerate the development, governance, and adoption of our enterprise design system.
This is a short-term, high-impact contract role focused on establishing strong foundations, improving UI consistency, and enabling scalable frontend practices across digital platforms.
The ideal candidate is strategic yet hands-on, capable of quickly assessing the current state, defining a clear roadmap, and delivering measurable improvements within a 3-month engagement.
Key Responsibilities Assess the current state of the design system and identify gaps Define and execute a focused 3-month roadmap with clear deliverables Establish governance frameworks and contribution models Lead development or refinement of reusable UI components, tokens, and patterns Align UX, frontend engineering, and brand standards Ensure accessibility (WCAG), responsiveness, and performance best practices Implement documentation standards and version control processes Drive stakeholder alignment and adoption across product teams Provide mentorship and recommendations for long-term sustainability 8+ years of experience in UI/UX, frontend engineering, or digital product development Proven experience building or scaling enterprise design systems Strong expertise in component-based architecture and modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, etc.
) Deep understanding of design tokens, theming, and UI governance Experience implementing accessibility standards (WCAG) Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills Ability to deliver results in short, high-impact engagements
