Job Overview
Support smooth daily operations in the Food & Beverage department by assisting with food preparation and basic cooking under the supervision of senior chefs. The role involves rotating through kitchen sections while maintaining high standards of hygiene, food quality, and safety.
Key responsibilities
Follow instructions from Senior Chefs and maintain required work standards
Prepare, cook, and serve food while ensuring quality and presentation standards
Measure ingredients and portion sizes accurately
Operate kitchen equipment (grills, fryers, griddles, etc.)
Clean food preparation areas, utensils, and equipment
Check food quality, quantity, and presentation before service
Stock and restock workstations; monitor and rotate stock (FEFO)
Assist with deliveries, storage, and stock control
Carry out temperature checks, food labeling/dating, and storage procedures
Minimize food waste and support food cost control
Maintain high personal hygiene and HACCP standards
Identify and report kitchen hazards or equipment issues
Follow opening and closing kitchen procedures as assigned
Comply with health, safety, hygiene, and company policies
Attend training sessions and workshops as required
Minimum Qualifications & Experiences
Essentials
Basic hospitality or catering training
Foundation degree in Culinary Arts Management
On-the-job training or apprenticeship in food preparation
Desirables
Diploma in Hospitality & Catering or Professional Cookery
Food Hygiene / HACCP certification
At least 2 years’ experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen
Skills Required

Basic cooking and knife skills
Knowledge of food preparation (hot and cold dishes, sauces, pastries, etc.)
Familiarity with kitchen equipment
Ability to communicate in English
