Role Summary:
The Regional Finance Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial governance, ensure robust internal controls, accurate reporting and strong cash management. They will drive consistency across financial processes through adherence to standard operating procedures, group policies and reporting standards, while ensuring full statutory and tax compliance across all jurisdictions. This role will lead the implementation of group-led initiatives, actively manage Net Working Capital and key operational KPIs, deliver timely and accurate reporting, and support organisational change initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop Area Finance Managers across the region, fostering a high-performance finance culture focused on accountability, while building strong cross-functional relationships with finance, operations and commercial teams.
- Oversee statutory reporting, including review and approval of financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP, and reconciling statutory accounts to Hyperion for all European legal entities.
- Coordinate tax compliance activities, supporting finance teams with tax filings and audits in partnership with the Head of Global Tax.
- Support month-end and year-end reporting cycles through first-level review of financial and non-financial information, ensuring accurate data collection and timely submission of reporting templates.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Group policies, internal controls, standard operating procedures and best practices across accounting, treasury and credit activities.
- Ensure effective control over intercompany reconciliations, credit compliance and safeguards across revenue, expenditure and assets, including bank accounts, cash centralisation, mandates and bank fee oversight.
- Drive disciplined Net Working Capital management through detailed monitoring of KPIs such as accounts receivable ageing, cash flow, prefunding levels and turnaround times.
- Provide analytical support and data to senior stakeholders, collaborate closely with Regional Controllers and Group Finance on shared objectives, deliver training across systems and technical accounting, and support change management initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
- University qualified – minimum degree level.
- Fully Qualified accountant (CIMA/CPA/ACA/CA).
- In depth understanding of IFRS and applicable local GAAP.
- 5+ years post qualification experience.
- Relevant experience of working in the marine / shipping services industry.
- Strong and confident commuter both written and verbally and ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Understanding of Hyperion or similar management reporting tools, and understands how to leverage them.
- Highly analytical and numerate with a strong attention to detail.
