Job Description:


The Business Excellence and Operations Director MEAM is a strategic business leader and sparring partner to the MEAM Regional Head and the broader MEAM Leadership Team with a focus on General Managers and their Strategic Business Excellence teams. The role drives the strategic and operational performance of the region by elevating business excellence, driving launch readiness, strengthening capabilities, and ensuring execution excellence across MEAM markets.


The role ensures MEAM becomes a launch-and commercial-powerhouse region by:


  • Enhancing and maximizing business operations and customer excellence in line with brand strategies and global priorities.


  • Leading key business initiatives and building core and advanced capabilities (Commercial, Medical, Market Access).


  • Ensuring performance tracking standardization and operational governance across affiliates and partner markets.


  • Facilitating global-to-local alignment and ensuring strong collaboration with International and Corporate functions.


  • Serving as a senior representative for the Region Head MEAM in internal and external forums when required.


The Business Excellence and Operations Director is expected to enable strong partnership with all Geographies & support functions within MEAM, coordination of transformational changes and operational aspects of the MEAM LT and proactive and strong interactions with the corporate functions (franchises, finance, E&C, Regulatory and other support functions for all divisions of IPSEN) to enhance execution and delivery.


The Business Excellence and Operations Director will represent the Region Head MEAM in several internal and external meetings as per need.


Over and above these responsibilities the Business Excellence and Operations Director will take direct charge of our partner markets providing them direct support and business oversight.


Main responsibilities / job expectationsLead and facilitate strategic and operational MEAM projects
  • Build comprehensive understanding of all core business functions of Ipsen’s organization and apply that knowledge to effectively manage strategic and tactical initiatives across the MEA TAM Region


  • Influence at all levels of Ipsen Group (all country operations, R&D, TechOps, Corporate Strategy, Support Functions, etc.) as appropriate


  • Identify in a proactive way all issues within the region and beyond that may impact successful execution of business objectives and decide upon timely escalation for resolution


  • Resolve conflict to enable effective decisions at Intercontinental, through ability to influence others, be objective and provide data


  • Share best practices and challenge business excellence activities and projects across the region


Systems, Tools, Analytics & Governance
  • Lead the business intelligence and analytics function for Ipsen, setting the strategy and direction for insights driven and disease focused business intelligence gathering


  • Lead process for operational, strategic, account and functional planning


  • Lead on Veeva capabilities and utilization across all functions, recommend ways to improve CRM effectiveness and customer impact


  • Deploy tools to measure critical business objectives and establish metrics aligned to business priorities


  MEAM Governance
  • Support MEAM region Head with agenda and minutes of monthly MEAM LT meetings


  • Develop and continuously refine MEAM governance (ways of working, business reviews, launch readiness reviews, RACI, etc.)


  • Support Head of MEAM in collaboration with Finance and to effectively manage budget, capacity and resource planning


  • Prepare for MEAM Country Business Reviews: identify hot topics to be discussed


  • Ensure effective use of time, promote quality of decision making and focus on critical topics; ensure timely delivery of minutes and monitor action plans


Communication
  • Represent Head of MEAM in select internal / external meetings as per need


  • Act as a key liaison with SC International and Corporate communications for all internal and external communications


  • Prepare Head of MEAM communication plan and events: internal (e.g. Town Hall meetings, internal blogs) and external discussions and prepare presentations (e.g. Roadshow)


  • Promote key initiatives and identify communication opportunities while partnering with support functions to support these efforts.


  • Define key messages to be cascaded across the organization as appropriate


Ethics & Compliance
  • Ensure that all activities are undertaken in accordance with all Ipsen SOPs, policies, directives and relevant national guidelines.


Knowledge, Abilities & ExperienceEducation
  • Ideal: Advanced postgraduate academic background in business or sciences


  • Minimum: One of the above


Experience
  • Proven Mobility


  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry with experience in sales & marketing leadership or finance roles or head of function


  • Experience in matrix environment and global environment


Knowledge & Abilities
  • Thorough understanding of commercial operations & change management


  • Good planning, analytical and organizational skills


  • Excellent influencing & communication skills


  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in full autonomy or as part of a larger team
