Position Summary
The Senior Specialist - Career Coaching is responsible for providing advice and guidance to support HCT students in making realistic and suitable career decisions and in setting and reaching their employment goals. He/she will communicate with students and potential employers during the job search period to influence mutual positive outcomes.
Main Responsibilities :
- Maintain consistent and frequent communication with students and provide them with one-on-one counselling to assist them in their career exploration.
- Guide and advise HCT students on building resumes and cover letters, interviewing techniques, job application processes, interviewing techniques and job search techniques.
- Work with students to identify their skill gaps, gaps in their resumes and experience and support them in developing action plans to fill those gaps.
- Research and explain the current job market to job seekers and provide them with insights related to regional and global industry trends and labour market demands.
- Guide students to access the career resource library and attend the various events conducted by HCT’s Student Careers function.
- Counsel students to support them in understanding and overcoming behavioural issues affecting their employment situations.
- Maintain a database of students’ functional and industry career interests and continuously track and communicate relevant opportunities with them.
- Monitor HCT students’ proactivity in job hunting and networking.
- Coordinate with Student Careers team and Central Services on career opportunities on a regular basis.
Requirements
Qualifications
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required e.g. Counselling and Career Development.
• Full English proficiency is required.
• Basic computer literacy is required e.g. MS Office.
•Minimum of four years of work experience in Career Coaching or any relevant field.
