The ICU Charge Nurse provides clinical leadership and ensures high‑quality, safe patient care within the Intensive Care Unit. This role involves supervising the nursing team during each shift, coordinating patient care activities, and maintaining adherence to clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include overseeing patient assessments, planning and evaluating care, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting evidence‑based practice. The Charge Nurse monitors staff performance, provides coaching, leads conflict resolution, and ensures safe staffing levels in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. They play a central role in emergency response, patient advocacy, medication safety, and interdisciplinary communication.
Additional duties include supporting patient and family education, maintaining professional competencies, guiding junior staff, participating in research, completing continuing education requirements, and maintaining a professional portfolio. The Charge Nurse upholds regulatory, organizational, and ethical standards while promoting a safe environment and positive patient experience.

This role requires strong clinical expertise, leadership capability, critical thinking, and the ability to manage fast‑paced and complex ICU operations while ensuring the highest standard of patient care.

Qualifications:

Required :
• Bachelor degree in Nursing OR
• Associate degree in Nursing from Canada or USA with minimum two (2) years
course duration AND
• Successful completion of the National exam :
✓ USA: NCLEX - RN
✓ Canada: Licensing Exam
