Swift’s API Enablement Division within the Payment Services organizationis responsible forthe entire lifecycle of an API, treating it as a product with developers as the primary customer base.As a key member of the team, this rolewillbe responsible forthe management of new and existing API services offered by Swift.



This role involves supporting and spearheading the development of new features, improving existing ones and ensuring the overall functionality of theAPI offerings with special focus on harmonization and standardization. 



Key Activities include: 



  • Define API strategy and Roadmap in alignment with strategic business goals,identifyingopportunities for harmonization, ecosystemdevelopmentand usage growth. 



  • Managing the full API lifecycle from ideation and design to development, launch and maintenance ensuring consistency,performanceand security throughout.



  • Ensure a consistent Developer experience by overseeing comprehensive documentation, sandbox environments for testing, harmonized and consistent usage across various API offerings 



  • Collaborate with Cross Functional teams to help translate high level businessobjectivesinto actionable technical requirements and implementation details. Coordinate with other internal teams to ensure development,deploymentand maintenance of existing API offerings 



  • Monitor and Analyse key matrices such as uptime, latency, error rates and adoption data to inform decision-making,optimizetheAPIanddemonstrateits business value.



  • alignment with internal security policies andgovernance to ensure compliance and mitigate risks



Key Skills and Qualifications



  • The PM must understand API fundamentals (REST, JSON), tools like Postman and technical specifications (like OpenAPI).



  • 7+ years of experience in API product management, technology product development.



  • Experience and comfort adopting to work ondifferent typesof products



  • Proactive, self-started, team oriented,collaborativeand adaptable with excellent presentation skills including strong oral and writing capabilities. 



  • A deep understanding of developers and users, their pain points, and what constitutes a good developer experience is essential 




  • Experience in and/or significant exposure to the payments, financial services, or technology sectors. 



  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills withdemonstratedintellectual and analytical rigor and attention to detail.
