Eligibility & Board Recognition We welcome applications from internationally trained thoracic surgeons with recognised qualifications such as: American Board of Thoracic Surgery UK CCT / FRCS (Thoracic Surgery) European Board Certification Royal College Certification (Canada) Australian Fellowship Arab Board MCh / DNB/ DM Thoracic Surgery / equivalent recognised sub-specialty qualification Candidates should be eligible for Dubai Health Authority (DHA) / Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH) license conversion (full support provided).
Key Responsibilities Diagnose and surgically manage thoracic conditions including lung cancer, pleural diseases, mediastinal tumors, and chest wall disorders Perform open and minimally invasive thoracic surgeries (VATS / robotic-assisted surgery) Manage thoracic oncology cases in collaboration with multidisciplinary tumor boards Conduct pre-operative evaluation and post-operative care, including ICU coordination Perform procedures such as lobectomy, pneumonectomy, decortication, and esophageal interventions (if applicable) Collaborate with pulmonology, oncology, radiology, and critical care teams Participate in emergency thoracic surgical services and trauma care Ensure compliance with clinical governance, patient safety, and international surgical standards Contribute to clinical audits, research, and continuous medical education Mentor junior doctors and surgical trainees
