Assistant Manager – Finance & Operations

About the company
We are a UAE-based business associated with one of India’s leading business houses, operating across investment-related activities and consumer/e-commerce initiatives. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented, and hands-on finance and operations professional who can support the company across accounting, compliance coordination, banking operations, internal reporting, and selected business operations tasks.
Role summary
This is a cross-functional role for a qualified Chartered Accountant or finance professional with strong grounding in Indian and UAE accounting practices, comfort with operational execution, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires a person who is equally comfortable with numbers, documentation, follow-ups, and getting day-to-day business tasks closed properly.
Key responsibilities
1. Accounting and finance
- Maintain books of account and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and monthly closing processes
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors where required
- Prepare MIS, financial summaries, and supporting schedules for management review
- Support budgeting, expense tracking, and cash-flow visibility
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, corporate tax, and related finance documentation requirements
2. Banking and treasury operations
- Manage routine banking activities, payments, transfers, account documentation, and follow-ups with banks
- Coordinate for account opening, KYC updates, banking resolutions, and related documentation
- Track payment status, maintain banking records, and support treasury hygiene across entities
3. Corporate compliance / company secretarial coordination
- Coordinate with external PROs, legal advisors, company formation agents, and government service providers
- Support renewals, licenses, resolutions, shareholder/board documentation, UBO/KYC submissions, and corporate records
- Ensure key compliance calendars and statutory deadlines are tracked and met
- Maintain organized records for all legal, regulatory, and corporate documents
4. Deal flow / internal coordination
- Coordinate with potential business partners, service providers, and other counterparties
- Gather required details, prepare summaries, and share relevant information with the India-based investment / management team
- Follow up on pending items and ensure timely closure of action points
- Draft basic emails, notes, trackers, and internal updates in clear professional English
5. Business operations support
- Support basic operational tasks for the company’s e-commerce / consumer business as needed
- Coordinate product listings, order tracking, vendor follow-ups, and marketplace/website related execution
- Maintain operational trackers and support smooth day-to-day execution across business functions
Skills
Candidate profile
- Chartered Accountant preferred; candidates with strong accounting qualifications and relevant UAE experience may also be considered
- Preferably trained in India, with practical understanding of both Indian and UAE finance/compliance environments
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance operations, compliance coordination, or business operations
- Prior UAE experience strongly preferred
- Good understanding of UAE banking processes, VAT/compliance basics, and entity-level documentation workflows
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken
- Comfortable working in a lean environment with a hands-on approach
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills; familiarity with accounting systems and basic operational tools preferred
- High ownership, follow-through, and attention to detail
