Job Details

The Laboratory Chemist is responsible for carrying out experiments such as color matching, product improvement, and raw material evaluation, while simultaneously driving site-specific quality improvement projects and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS). The role ensures that lab work meets
company goals regarding productivity, quality, and safety.


Key Responsibilities



1. Color Management


  • Color Matching: Execute experiments to develop or match colors requested by sales teams. This
  • includes work for local and overseas customers.
  • Sample Production: Prepare powder samples for customer line trials and mockup.
  • Product Improvement: Conduct experiments for cost optimization and raw material evaluation.
  • Panel Library Management: Maintain the shade panel library and ensure sample panels are sent to customers or sales representatives in a timely manner.
  • Color Tools: Manage the local Data Color Tool, including the maintenance and regular calibration of the spectrophotometer workstation.

2. Quality Control & Assurance


  • Quality Systems: Responsible for efficient site Quality management.
  • Incident Resolution: Provide Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigatons and develop.
  • Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans, ensuring the verification of those actions.
  • Certification: Assist Lab Manager in work related to certification renewals and approvals.

3. Lab Operations & Safety


  • Lab Maintenance: Ensure lab equipment is working, and the lab area is kept neat and clean.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure safety rules are followed, and standard operating procedures are maintained regarding equipment and resource allocation.

Skills & Experience


  • Functional Expertise: Powder coating knowledge and the ability to work with different laboratory
  • equipment ensuring safety standards.
  • Data Analysis: Skills to analyze trends and defects (e.g., Pareto analysis).
  • Planning and Organizing: Ability to plan and execute experiments, allocate lab resources to accomplish specific goals, and establish sound courses of action.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to understand others' perspectives, support the team, and interact effectively across functions and regions.
  • Language: Written and spoken proficiency in English.
