About the role
As a Software Engineering Manager (Cloud), you shall build and manage a Cloud Scrum team in Dubai operating under Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model by providing strategic leadership guidance and technical mentorship. Your primary mission is to ensure a high-performing engineering team in Dubai that works collaboratively with our existing teams in Singapore and China to ensure seamless integration and successful delivery of technical milestones.
What you’ll be doing:
Manage the Cloud scrum team in Dubai and foster a supportive and productive environment that leads to success. Oversee the selection / recruitment of key staffs for the team operating under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) mode.
Collaborate with other Cloud scrum teams and the Solution Architect to ensure there is consistent approach and robust support to enable Cloud team to deliver the commitments made to the stakeholders
Define a clear vision for your team, crafting growth plans that align local talent development with Dyson’s broader organizational goals.
Provide guidance to ensure the delivery of robust, production-grade cloud services, emphasizing scalability and security
Work with the Head of Cloud to agree and deliver the Cloud objectives to meet the Dyson goals
Drive Innovation by proactively identifying emerging technologies, tools and working practices to help continually improve standards.
What you need:
At least 3 years of experience in managing a team and considerable experience in vendor management.
Strong knowledge in designing, building and maintaining scalable Cloud microservices architectures
Worked with AWS and has hands on experience with deployment and configuration of AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateways and etc)
Working knowledge with CI/CD techniques and tooling
Experience in building production quality cloud services
Exposure to Agile working practices
Outstanding communication skills
An interest in learning new technologies, skills and technique
