KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Description
·To Provide ATCOs with flight information and alerting services of IFR/VFR/Overflying flights in accordance with applicable rules regulations and unit procedures.
·To Ensure self-briefing on the latest OB, TIs, SIs, NOTAMs, and weather information before assuming any ATCA duties.
·Timely coordination with all ATS units to assist in providing a safe orderly and efficient ATC service.
·To Update ATC Systems with accurate flight information and to ensure they can be viewed on the Secondary Surveillance Radar in order to enable the ATCOs to provide customers with a safe, orderly and efficient Air Traffic Service.
·To co-ordinate any aerodrome issues with Airside Operations including flight diversions, emergencies, and landing permissions.
·To provide on the job training and to carry out assessments for staff as directed by the Operational Training and Standards upon obtaining the applicable experience, qualification, and regulatory requirements.
·To report all incidents and occurrences that have an impact on Aerodromes and Air Traffic Services, to the Watch Manager and Team Leader ATCA.
·Undertakes similar or related duties as directed by senior management.
·Maintain a thorough operational knowledge and understanding of the equipment and systems used for the provision of ATS, found in both the Approach Control room and the Contingency Approach Control room.
·To co-ordinate Flight plan issues with Dubai AIS including delays, cancellation and refiling of Flight plans.
·Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all relevant documents – in particular ATCA dans Manual of Air Traffic Services (DMATS),ATM User manuals.
·Undergo training and successfully complete annual competency examinations in both theoretical and practical knowledge/currency as determined by dans.
·Ensure that the Safety, Process, Procedure, Communication, Attendance, Behavior, Relationship and Efficiency are applied, in accordance with the dans policies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge & Experience:
·Educated to Diploma Level or equivalent.
·The jobholder should be ICAO level 4 or higher in written and spoken English
·Computer literate.
·The jobholder will have aviation experience as an Air Traffic Controller, an Air Traffic Controller Assistant, Briefing Services, or any other relevant Aviation related job of at least 2 years duration.
·A good understanding of ATM systems is an advantage.
