Job Summary
The Head of Inclusion is responsible for leading and managing the school’s inclusion provision, ensuring that all students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), English language learners, and gifted and talented students, receive appropriate support to achieve their full potential. The role involves strategic leadership, staff development, and compliance with relevant educational regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the school’s inclusion strategy in line with the school’s vision and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee identification, assessment, and support for students with additional learning needs.
- Ensure high-quality Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Manage and support the inclusion team, including SEN teachers, learning support assistants, and specialists.
- Work closely with teachers to implement differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
- Coordinate with parents, external agencies, and specialists to support student development.
- Ensure compliance with local authority and inspection frameworks (e.g., RAK/DOK or MOE requirements).
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of inclusion programs and interventions.
- Provide professional development and training for staff on inclusive education practices.
- Support safeguarding and student well-being initiatives.
- Manage the inclusion budget and resources effectively.
- Prepare reports for senior leadership and external authorities.
