About the job LEAD INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER
We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Instrumentation Engineer to oversee all instrumentation and control engineering activities on a major gas processing facility project. The candidate will be responsible for delivering instrumentation systems that meet safety, operational, and project requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the design and review of instrumentation deliverables including instrument index, datasheets, hook-up drawings, loop diagrams, and instrument location plans
- Develop and review control system architecture, DCS/ESD philosophies, and cause and effect diagrams
- Review and approve vendor instrumentation and control system documentation
- Coordinate with process, electrical, and mechanical disciplines on instrumentation interfaces
- Lead SIL verification and functional safety assessments in accordance with IEC 61511
- Oversee preparation of instrument specifications and technical bid evaluations
- Guide and mentor instrumentation engineers and designers
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and loop testing activities
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control, or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering for oil & gas projects; specialist-level candidates also considered
- Extensive experience in large-scale gas processing or petrochemical facility projects
- Strong knowledge of DCS, ESD, and F&G systems and related international standards
- Proficiency in SIL assessment and functional safety per IEC 61511
- Prior experience on ADNOC gas processing projects is a significant advantage
- Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred
- Excellent coordination skills and ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces
