Middle East Executive has been exclusively retained by a leading retail group to identify and recruit multiple roles for Buyer and Sr Buyer position for its Dubai office.
We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Senior Buyer to lead our departments. This role demands extensive experience in home category buying and will focus on shaping the product strategy to maximize profitability and meet customer demand for high-quality, stylish products.

Requirement 1. TEXTILES (soft furnishings bedding, cushions, throws, rugs, bath textiles, curtains) /FLOOR COVERINGS (Rugs, carpets, bathmats, doormats)
Requirement 2. KITCHEN, TABLETOP (loose crockery, dinner sets, serve ware, glassware, cutlery, table linen) & LIGHTING
Reports to: Head of Department
Direct Reports: Buyers, Assistant Buyers, Buying Coordinators
Key Responsibilities:
• Buying Budget and Planning: Determine strategies to develop the category, identifying opportunities for growth. Manage the category budget with Planning team, with the objective of maximizing sales and profits.
• Product Research: Keep abreast of the latest trends through market visits and trade shows. Gather insights from data and store feedback for informed buying decisions. Also, GCC customer preferences (relevant GCC product trends, seasonal launches, majlis styling, gifting, Ramadan/Eid, wedding registry)
• Product Development and Strategy: Lead all design and development activities to ensure they are in line with market demands and brand positioning. Define range and influence in-store VM and marketing communication.
• Strategic Sourcing: Initiate cost reduction measures through centralized buying and selecting the appropriate vendor mix. Build strong, long-term relationships with key vendors globally and ensure best cost prices and quality. Identify and onboard competitive suppliers (local + International). Maintain strong vendor scorecards (quality, delivery, compliance).
• Order Management: Collaborate with the buyers/coordinators, shipping, warehousing and planning team on demand estimation, order placement, adequate newness, reordering of core lines, and supplier follow up.
• Performance Analysis: Review of product sales periodically to ensure profit maximization. Analyze weekly performance at the category and business unit level and take in-season action to optimize sales.
• Quality Control: Ensure all procured merchandise meets the highest quality standards set
• People Management: Develop talent within the team by providing consistent direction and support. Build a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
• Post-Graduation degree/MBA preferred. (Also NIFT ,NID , PEARL)
• Minimum 10+ years of total experience for Sr. Buyer and 6+ years for buyer with 5+ years in a senior buying role and 3+ years in relevant categories
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Excel and Microsoft power point proficiency
