Job description:Job Title: Purchasing Officer cum Cost Estimator Industry: Furniture Manufacturing Location: UAEJob Summary We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer cum Cost Estimator to oversee cost management, supply chain analysis, vendor performance evaluation, and operational cost optimization within our furniture manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in monitoring procurement costs, analyzing supplier pricing, controlling manufacturing expenses, and supporting management with data-driven recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Cost Management & Analysis Develop, maintain, and monitor product costing and manufacturing cost reports. Analyze material, labor, overhead, logistics, and production costs to identify cost-saving opportunities. Monitor actual costs against budgets and investigate variances. Prepare monthly cost analysis reports and management dashboards. Support pricing strategies through accurate cost calculations and profitability analysis. Establish and maintain standard costing models for furniture products. Supply Chain Cost Control Monitor procurement and supply chain expenses to ensure cost efficiency. Analyze inventory carrying costs, warehousing expenses, and logistics costs. Track material consumption and wastage levels and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels. Evaluate supply chain processes and identify opportunities for operational improvements. Vendor Analysis & Procurement Support Conduct vendor cost analysis, benchmarking, and performance evaluations. Compare supplier quotations and recommend cost-effective sourcing options. Monitor supplier pricing trends and negotiate cost-saving opportunities in coordination with the procurement team. Develop vendor scorecards based on pricing, quality, delivery performance, and reliability. Support strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier selection processes. Budgeting & Financial Control Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasting manufacturing costs. Monitor departmental spending against approved budgets. Ensure compliance with company financial policies and cost control procedures. Support internal and external audits by providing cost-related documentation and reports. Reporting & Process Improvement Prepare weekly and monthly KPI reports related to cost, procurement, inventory, and vendor performance. Identify process inefficiencies and recommend cost reduction initiatives. Implement best practices in cost control, inventory management, and supply chain operations. Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Production, and Operations teams to improve overall business performance. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) – APICS/ASCM,Minimum 5–8 years of experience in cost control, cost accounting, or supply chain cost management. Experience in the furniture manufacturing, joinery, fit-out, or woodworking industry is mandatory. Strong understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, vendor evaluation, and manufacturing operations. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel (Advanced). Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
