We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist / Consultant General Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Oman.
The successful candidate will diagnose and manage a broad range of surgical conditions, perform elective and emergency surgical procedures, and provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative patient care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with general surgical conditions.
Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures in accordance with evidence-based clinical practices.
Conduct minimally invasive (laparoscopic) procedures where qualified and applicable.
Assess patients pre-operatively, obtain informed consent, and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide comprehensive post-operative care and monitor patient recovery.
Manage surgical emergencies and trauma cases as required.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate medical records, operative notes, and clinical documentation.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality meetings, and continuing medical education (CME).
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, infection control protocols, and Oman Ministry of Health regulations.
Participate in on-call duties and emergency coverage as per hospital requirements.

MS, DNB, FRCS, Arab Board, or equivalent postgraduate qualification in General Surgery.
Eligibility for or possession of a valid Oman Ministry of Health (MoH) license.
Minimum 5–8 years of post-specialization experience in a recognized hospital.
Experience in laparoscopic surgery is highly preferred.
Strong clinical judgment, surgical expertise, and decision-making skills.
