Role Overview We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to support the planning, development, and delivery of electricity distribution network expansion projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing network expansion plans, reviewing project designs, supporting procurement and commissioning activities, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with technical, regulatory, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities :Develop electricity distribution network expansion plans to meet forecasted demand requirements. Support the development of the Power Network Development Plan by preparing project scopes, evaluating options, and providing technical justifications. Develop detailed project scopes and functional specifications in collaboration with Project Engineering teams and external consultants. Review preliminary and detailed design reports submitted by consultants and developers to ensure compliance with company standards and Asset Management requirements. Prepare RFQs, BOQs, technical specifications, and scopes of work for power network projects. Lead technical bid evaluations during tendering processes and support procurement activities. Identify project risks and constraints and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful project delivery. Provide technical support to project management teams during construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases. Conduct technical reviews of project designs to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and approved specifications. Participate in site inspections, technical meetings, and quality assurance activities to monitor project progress and resolve design-related issues. Coordinate with Asset Management, Capital Projects, and Operations & Maintenance teams to facilitate smooth integration of new assets into the network. Ensure all permits, approvals, environmental requirements, and operational clearances are obtained before commissioning activities. Monitor project milestones, stage gates, and CAPEX objectives to ensure timely delivery. Support asset handover activities, ensuring all documentation, technical requirements, and compliance obligations are met. Monitor asset performance during the Defects Liability Period and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders. Prepare technical reports, performance reviews, and project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience Mandatory Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.3–5 years of experience in power distribution, network planning, utility engineering, or a related field. Strong understanding of electricity distribution networks, engineering design principles, and project lifecycle management. Experience in technical specification preparation, design review, and contractor/consultant management.
Preferred Requirements Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Experience within utility, transmission, or distribution companies.
