Position Overview

A leading tertiary-care hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Neuro‑Oncologist to join its comprehensive pediatric oncology and neurology program. The ideal candidate will provide expert care for children with primary CNS tumors, complex neuro‑oncologic conditions, and treatment‑related complications, while contributing to service development, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Expertise

Diagnose and manage a full spectrum of pediatric CNS tumors, including:Medulloblastoma, ependymoma, gliomas Germ cell tumors Craniopharyngioma and rare pediatric brain tumors Lead and coordinate individualized treatment plans involving:Chemotherapy Targeted therapies and immunotherapies Radiotherapy planning in collaboration with radiation oncology Surgical planning with pediatric neurosurgeons Manage treatment‑related complications such as neurotoxicity, endocrinopathies, and long‑term survivorship issues. Provide inpatient and outpatient care, including follow‑up for long‑term survivors. Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary case discussions, and complex care pathways.
Leadership & Program Development

Contribute to the strategic development of the pediatric neuro‑oncology service. Develop and update clinical protocols, pathways, and quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with pediatric neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, radiology, pathology, and rehabilitation teams. Mentor junior physicians, fellows, and clinical staff.

Family & Patient Engagement

Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and prognostic information with clarity and compassion. Provide psychosocial support in collaboration with child life specialists, psychologists, and social workers. Engage families in shared decision‑making and long‑term care planning.

Academic & Research Contributions

Participate in clinical trials, research initiatives, and institutional review activities. Publish case reports, studies, and contribute to academic conferences. Teach medical students, residents, and fellows within the pediatric oncology program.

Qualifications & Requirements

Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution. Board Certification in Pediatric Oncology/Hematology (e.g., American Board, Canadian Board or equivalent). Fellowship training in Pediatric Neuro‑Oncology from a recognized center. Minimum 8–10 years of post‑specialization experience, including consultant‑level practice. Demonstrated expertise in managing complex CNS tumors and advanced therapies. Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills. Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
