System Administrator Role Description We are seeking a System Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize the organization's IT infrastructure, servers, operating systems, and enterprise platforms to ensure high availability, security, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for administering system environments, monitoring infrastructure performance, implementing security controls, and supporting business-critical technology services across on-premises and cloud environments. The successful candidate will collaborate with network engineers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity specialists, IT support teams, software developers, and business stakeholders to maintain reliable and scalable IT systems. You will configure servers, manage operating systems, monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure enterprise platforms remain secure and highly available. Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining Windows and Linux servers, managing virtualization platforms, administering user accounts and permissions, monitoring system performance, implementing backup and disaster recovery procedures, and performing routine system maintenance. You will support Active Directory services, identity management, email systems, file services, storage infrastructure, and enterprise applications while ensuring compliance with organizational IT policies. The role also involves administering cloud infrastructure, monitoring system logs, managing security patches, automating administrative tasks, supporting endpoint management, maintaining documentation, and coordinating infrastructure upgrades and technology deployments. You will participate in incident response, root cause analysis, capacity planning, performance optimization, and business continuity initiatives while minimizing system downtime and operational risks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects, implement infrastructure improvements, evaluate emerging technologies, and enhance overall system reliability and operational resilience. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of system administration, server management, enterprise infrastructure, and operating system administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Red Hat, Cent OS, Debian, or equivalent), and enterprise operating systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and identity and access management. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Share Point, One Drive, Microsoft Teams, and enterprise collaboration platforms. Understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware v Sphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Proxmox, or equivalent virtualization platforms. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or hybrid cloud environments. Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, storage systems, high availability, business continuity, and data protection strategies. Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, and network security. Knowledge of scripting and automation using Power Shell, Bash, Python, or equivalent scripting languages. Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms such as Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or equivalent monitoring solutions. Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, patch management, encryption, and compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and IT documentation tools. Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
