Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Draughtsman and Planning Engineer role based in Abu Dhabi. The role involves preparing detailed CAD drawings and layouts for fire detection, fire protection, and safety systems in line with UAE Civil Defence and international standards. The Draughtsman and Planning Engineer will develop project plans, schedules, and material take-offs, coordinate design inputs with engineering and site teams, and support tender documentation and technical submissions. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing specifications, updating drawings based on site changes, ensuring documentation accuracy, and collaborating with project managers to monitor progress and identify risks. The role also requires regular coordination with suppliers, consultants, and regulatory authorities to support approvals and compliance.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong technical drawing and drafting skills, including proficiency in Auto CAD or similar CAD tools and preparation of detailed fire system layouts. Candidates should possess planning and project coordination skills, including scheduling, resource planning, and preparation of BOQs and material lists. Candidates should possess knowledge of fire safety standards and regulations, preferably UAE Civil Defence codes and relevant NFPA or international fire protection standards. Candidates should possess analytical and documentation skills, including the ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and prepare accurate reports. Candidates should possess communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with engineering, site teams, clients, and authorities. Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred. Experience in fire fighting, fire alarm, or life safety systems within the UAE or GCC region is highly beneficial. Familiarity with MS Office, basic project management tools, and fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
