The Senior Plant (Workshop) Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, servicing, and operational readiness of the Company's fleet of construction plant, machinery, and heavy equipment. The role ensures maximum equipment availability, reliability, and cost efficiency while supporting project operations through effective workshop management and preventive maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the central workshop, ensuring timely maintenance and repair of construction equipment.

• Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for heavy equipment, plant, and vehicles.

• Monitor equipment utilization, availability, downtime, and productivity to support project requirements.

• Coordinate equipment mobilization and demobilization between projects.

• Supervise workshop personnel, technicians, mechanics, and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient operations.

• Prepare maintenance schedules, technical reports, equipment condition assessments, and performance analyses.

• Monitor maintenance costs, spare parts inventory, and workshop budgets while identifying cost-saving opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with Company HSE policies, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable statutory regulations.

• Coordinate the erection, dismantling, inspection, and certification of tower cranes, passenger hoists, and other lifting equipment in accordance with safety standards.

• Liaise with Project Managers and Site Teams to ensure timely availability of equipment and plant resources.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or a related engineering discipline.

• Professional certifications related to heavy equipment or maintenance management will be an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 10–15 years of relevant UAE/GCC experience in plant maintenance, workshop operations, and heavy construction equipment.

• Previous experience with a leading construction or contracting company is mandatory.

• Strong experience managing heavy equipment, including:

  • Tower Cranes

  • Passenger Hoists

  • Excavators

  • Cranes

  • Wheel Loaders

  • Generators

  • Air Compressors

  • Batching Plants

  • Crushers

  • Marine Equipment (preferred)
