Job description

To provide higher support in procurement and logistics by managing mid-level sourcing decisions, coordinating closely with internal teams, and handling critical vendor relationships. The role will take ownership of selected procurement categories and logistics follow-ups, contribute to vendor evaluations, and ensure material availability within agreed timelines and cost parameters.

Functional Roles and Responsibilities:


• Support the Logistics & Purchase Manager in forecasting and planning procurement needs for specific projects or material categories.


• Identify and categorize procurement requirements, compile material specifications, and ensure optimal sourcing in terms of cost, quality, and timelines.


• Conduct vendor and market analysis to identify opportunities for improved pricing, product quality, and supply efficiency.


• Stay updated on market trends; procure samples, brochures, and technical data from available suppliers; present findings for internal review and final confirmation.


• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs), negotiate prices and payment terms, and provide recommendations for vendor selection.


• Negotiate favorable credit terms with suppliers and ensure proper opening and issuance of LPOs with agreed pricing and delivery timelines.


• Obtain necessary approvals and place purchase orders with the most cost-effective and viable suppliers, ensuring delivery as per agreed terms.


• Prepare periodic reports summarizing supplier performance and pricing trends; conduct regular market surveys to explore better alternatives.


• Coordinate with user departments to review procurement requirements, ensure alignment with project needs, and improve internal service delivery.


• Assist the Manager in conducting supplier performance reviews and contribute to developing a preferred vendor list for critical materials.


• Proactively highlight potential delays, cost variances, and quality concerns to the Manager and suggest appropriate mitigation plans.


• Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying efficiency opportunities and contributing to procurement reporting through data collection and analysis.


• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in line with audit and compliance requirements.


• Assist in training new team members or interns, as and when required.



Qualifications:

Education/Certification and Continued Education 
• Graduate (any discipline)

Years of Experience 
• 8-10 years’ experience in the Procurement / Purchase industry with good exposure in Joinery /Interior Fit out 
• Previous experience in Building Materials Company
