The Role We are seeking an experienced Interior Architecture Manager to lead interior architecture projects, design development, technical coordination, consultant management, design standards, project delivery, and quality assurance across a diverse portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong architectural and interior-design expertise with project leadership, technical knowledge, commercial awareness, stakeholder management, and a strong understanding of design delivery. The role will be responsible for managing interior architecture teams and consultants, developing design concepts, coordinating technical documentation, ensuring design quality, managing project timelines and budgets, and supporting projects from concept through construction and handover. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement interior architecture strategies, design standards, processes, and governance frameworks aligned with project and organizational objectives. Lead interior architecture projects from concept development through schematic design, design development, documentation, tender, construction, and final handover. Manage multidisciplinary interior architecture and design teams across multiple projects and project phases. Develop and review interior concepts, space-planning strategies, material palettes, finishes, furniture concepts, lighting approaches, and architectural details. Ensure interior design solutions align with project briefs, client requirements, brand standards, operational needs, building regulations, and commercial objectives. Coordinate interior architecture with base-build architecture, structural engineering, MEP systems, lighting, acoustics, fire and life safety, technology, AV, security, and other specialist disciplines. Review and approve design drawings, specifications, schedules, material selections, details, presentations, and technical documentation. Manage design development and ensure design intent is accurately translated into coordinated construction documentation. Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, specialist suppliers, manufacturers, and other project stakeholders. Lead design coordination meetings and resolve design, technical, spatial, material, and constructability issues. Review consultant deliverables for quality, completeness, technical accuracy, coordination, and compliance with project requirements. Establish and maintain interior architecture design standards, templates, specifications, material libraries, and documentation procedures. Develop and manage design programs, deliverables, milestones, resources, and project schedules. Monitor design progress and identify potential delays, coordination risks, scope gaps, and technical issues. Work closely with Project Managers and Commercial teams to manage design budgets, consultant fees, procurement requirements, variations, and cost implications. Evaluate alternative design solutions and materials to achieve the required balance between aesthetics, functionality, durability, sustainability, and cost. Support value-engineering exercises while protecting critical design intent and project quality. Coordinate material and finish selections with Procurement, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors. Review samples, mock-ups, prototypes, shop drawings, material submissions, and technical submittals. Conduct design reviews and site inspections to verify that construction and installation are consistent with approved design documentation. Identify quality issues, non-conformances, design discrepancies, and construction deviations and coordinate appropriate corrective actions. Support construction teams in resolving RFIs, technical queries, design clarifications, and site coordination issues. Review and respond to contractor submissions, shop drawings, material proposals, samples, and requests for design changes. Manage design changes, substitutions, and variations while assessing their technical, aesthetic, commercial, and schedule implications. Collaborate with clients and senior stakeholders to understand requirements, present design solutions, gather feedback, and obtain approvals. Prepare design presentations, concept packages, design reports, technical reviews, executive presentations, and project recommendations. Monitor emerging trends in interior architecture, materials, technology, sustainability, hospitality, workplace design, residential design, retail environments, and commercial spaces. Evaluate innovative materials, smart-building technologies, sustainable solutions, digital design tools, and emerging interior-design practices. Promote sustainable and environmentally responsible design approaches, including material efficiency, energy performance, durability, waste reduction, and responsible sourcing. Ensure designs incorporate accessibility, health and safety, fire and life-safety, building-code, and relevant regulatory requirements. Maintain comprehensive design registers, drawing registers, material schedules, approvals, design-change logs, consultant deliverables, and technical documentation. Establish and monitor key performance indicators covering design quality, project delivery, design approvals, consultant performance, cost control, design changes, construction quality, and client satisfaction. Experience across hospitality, luxury residential, commercial, retail, mixed-use, healthcare, workplace, aviation, or high-end development projects would be advantageous. The candidate should have strong design leadership capabilities combined with technical expertise, project-management skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams. What You'll Bring Proven experience in interior architecture, architecture, interior design, or design management. Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality interior architecture and design projects. Experience managing projects from concept through construction and handover. Strong knowledge of architectural and interior-design principles, space planning, materials, finishes, detailing, and construction methods. Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility, fire and life safety, and relevant regulatory requirements. Experience coordinating architectural, structural, MEP, lighting, technology, and specialist design disciplines. Strong technical documentation and drawing-review capabilities. Experience managing consultants, contractors, suppliers, and specialist design teams. Strong understanding of construction processes, shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, RFIs, and site coordination. Experience with design and architectural software such as Auto CAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent tools. Strong understanding of BIM and digital design workflows is advantageous. Excellent design presentation, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills. Strong project-management, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities. Commercial awareness and experience managing design budgets and value engineering. Highly creative, technically rigorous, detail-oriented, and results-oriented. Ability to manage multiple projects, consultants, deadlines, and competing priorities. Ability to work independently and effectively within a fully remote environment. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline. Professional architectural or design registration is advantageous. Experience working within the UAE or wider GCC design and construction market is highly desirable.
