The Machine Operator is responsible for operating different types of production machinery to ensure smooth, safe, timely, and efficient production. The role ensures that finished goods are produced according to the required quality specifications and production schedules set by the Shift Supervisor.
1. Operations
Prepare, set up, and operate production machines in accordance with the production schedule to ensure smooth and timely production.
Operate machinery and production equipment safely and efficiently, following approved operating procedures and work instructions.
Monitor machine performance and production output to ensure products meet required specifications.
Carry out routine machine checks and report any abnormalities, breakdowns, or operational issues to the Shift Supervisor.
Clean and wash machinery and equipment after completion of the production process.
Ensure the machine and work area are properly handed over to the next shift operator.
Coordinate with the Maintenance team to troubleshoot machine issues and support regular preventive maintenance activities.
Minimize machine downtime and support continuous improvement in production efficiency.
Ensure production activities are completed according to the agreed production plan and shift requirements.
2. Production Performance
Achieve planned production output in line with the production schedule.
Minimize machine downtime and production interruptions.
Complete machine cleaning within the required timeframe.
Operate machinery efficiently to minimize waste and production losses.
Maintain accurate production and machine-related records as required.
3. Special Projects
Participate in and support special projects and improvement initiatives as requested by Leadership Team.
Support implementation of operational improvement initiatives within the production area.
Complete assigned projects within agreed timelines.
4. Quality, Compliance & HSE
Ensure full adherence to all relevant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, instructions, and controls.
Ensure the workplace and production area comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and 5S standards.
Follow all hygiene, personal protective equipment, and uniform requirements in accordance with company policies and standards.
Ensure machinery is operated in accordance with approved safety procedures and operating instructions.
Immediately report any safety hazards, equipment abnormalities, quality issues, or potential risks to the Shift Supervisor or Manager.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
Support all internal quality, HSE, food safety, and compliance requirements.
5. MIS & Reporting
Maintain accurate production, machine operation, cleaning, and downtime records as required.
Assist in preparing timely and accurate departmental reports in line with department requirements.
Ensure all required production documentation and checklists are completed accurately and on time.
Report production issues, machine breakdowns, quality concerns, and other operational deviations to the Shift Supervisor.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
2–3 years of relevant experience in machine operation within a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or a similar production environment is preferred.
Functional Knowledge
Thorough knowledge of technical components and the functioning of manufacturing and production machines.
Good understanding of machine operating processes and production procedures.
Knowledge of basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance requirements.
Understanding of GMP, 5S, food safety, quality, and HSE requirements.
Ability to identify basic machine abnormalities and escalate technical issues appropriately.
Basic understanding of production processes, machine efficiency, and downtime management.
