New Product Development (Technical Execution)
Collects customer input data alongside Market Managers and Technical Sales Representatives.
Participates in feasibility studies, integrating finishing and technical constraints.
Participates in project meetings and validates item drawings in the absence of the NPD Manager.
Works jointly with the design office and mould shop to develop tooling drawings and ensure on time receipt of tooling units.
Validates tooling modifications and ensures readiness for model development.
Sampling Preparation & Production Trial Support
Prepares sampling plans (review of moulds, planning, technical specifications).
Assists and coordinates Production teams during sampling.
Analyses sampling and laboratory reports and participates in subsequent tooling adjustments.
Supports development of production files and documentation required for industrialisation.
Collects trial, sampling and production information and prepares technical reports to support product development, tooling improvements and future production runs.
Production Costing & Manufacturing Feasibility
Support the development and validation of manufacturing cost estimates by collecting production data, process assumptions and supplier inputs.
Assist in assessing manufacturing feasibility, production lead times, tooling requirements, line compatibility and commercial viability of new product concepts.
Supports technical and quality assessments of new product concepts and sampling outcomes.
Prepare and maintain technical and economic project documentation to support project approvals, customer quotations and business case development.
Identify opportunities to improve cost, productivity and manufacturability during the product development process.
Cross‑Functional Communication & Reporting
Informs Sales, Technical Sales, and Scheduling of project progress.
Provides documentation and technical support across NPD processes.
Ensures communication continuity between R&D, Design, Production, and Commercial stakeholders.
Tooling Validation & Post Production Follow Up
Validates tools for first production
Conducts post production follow up (Team Moulds) with Forming, Development, and Moulding departments.
Participates in improvement activities on mould variables and technical tools.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification:
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial or relevant discipline) – preferred, not essential.
10 years’ experience in manufacturing environments, ideally in glass
Expertise in forming department
Experience supporting technical product development activities.
Familiarity with CAD advantageous.
Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and commercial teams.
