We are looking for a site-based Project Manager, experienced in managing large geotechnical contracts.
- The position is based in one of the countries in East Africa
- Duration: 12 months
Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams, including engineers, field staff and site yard
- Prepare and manage project budgets, resources, tracking expenses and making adjustments as necessary.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, monitoring progress against milestones. Identify and address any delays or deviations from the schedule.
- Ensure timely and profitable delivery of project and parts thereof.
- write up, verify and correct, approve project submissions in coordination with head office functions such as method statements, risk assessments, HSE-documents etc.
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets specifications and standards.
- Ensure all project activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
- Lead project correspondence such as minutes of meetings, letters, supplier related matters etc.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to review project progress and resolve issues.
- Prepare and present project reports, including status updates, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Address and resolve conflicts and disputes that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Manage changes to project scope and contracts. Ensure all contractual obligations are met.
- Experience requirements: 5-7 year of experience in managing large geotechnical projects (>5M USD) as Project Manager
- Hands-on and focus on contractual and commercial aspects of work in coordination with Site Engineer-Team and Head Office
- Ready to stay and work on site with reasonable rotation scheme
- Fluent in English. Other languages, preferably Portuguese are welcome
