Auto Mechanic

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with vehicles, using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify any potential issues or needed repairs.
  • Repair or replace faulty components in vehicles, such as engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all services and repairs performed on vehicles.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest automotive technology and advancements through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnoses and recommended repairs.

Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and resolving any issues.

  • Keep work area clean and organized to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an automotive technology program or apprenticeship.
  • Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an auto mechanic.
  • Experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
