The Role

A detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Executive to join our Packaging team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing packaging materials and supplies, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality, the right quantity, and the right price. Working closely with production and design teams to meet packaging needs, manage supplier relationships, and optimize our procurement processes.

What you will be doing

• Source and evaluate suppliers for packaging materials, including products like paper, plastic, wood, and other related items.
• Negotiate contracts, price agreements, and terms with suppliers to obtain the best value and service.
• Utilize Strategic Sourcing and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methods in procurement decisions.
• Monitor inventory levels and follow principles of Just-In-Time (JIT) and On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
• Execute e-procurement through e-auction tools using the RAK procedures.
• Collaborate with the design, planning, and production teams to ensure that materials requirements are met accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, emerging packaging materials, and suppliers.
• Analyze supplier performance and implement improvement strategies where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with RAK procurement policies, sustainability practices, and quality standards in procurement decisions.
• Develop and implement packaging strategies that contribute to cost savings and efficiency improvements through collaboration projects.
• Perform logistical coordination and implement material management policies and procedures.
• Evaluate the associated supply chain risks and highlight them.

What we are looking for

• A good understanding of the UAE supply chain landscape and import procedures.
• Someone who is analytical, quick at Problem-solving and an expert collaborator.
• Hands-on Relationship Management, Adaptability and Time Management skills.
• Good communicator both verbal and written.

Our ideal match

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Purchase and Packaging.
• Mechanical Engineering degree and a post graduate degree (any stream) would be an add on.
• Working knowledge of SAP MM Module, E-procurement tools, MS Office suite etc.
• Exposure on souring materials, process improvements, vendor and product developments.
