Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of burn injuries.
- Monitor vital signs and report any signs of infection or complications.
- Perform wound cleaning and dressing changes, ensuring infection control.
- Use specialized techniques for burn wound management.
- Administer and monitor the effectiveness of pain medications.
- Provide comfort measures and educate patients on pain management.
- Educate on wound care, scar management, and home care procedures.
- Advise on nutrition, hydration, and mobility to aid recovery.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to create and follow a treatment plan.
- Participate in case reviews and coordinate patient care.
- Offer emotional support to patients and families.
- Assist in rehabilitation exercises and mobility training.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes.
- Ensure compliance with hospital documentation policies.
Skills
Educational Qualification Required:
- Bachelor degree in nursing OR
- Degree in Nursing (minimum two (2) years course duration)
- NMC License
- DOH License
Desired:
- ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty
Experience:
- 2 years clinical experience post qualification in appropriate setting
