Job Description: Paediatric-Pharmacology


Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Pharmacology Consultant/Physician to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing expert guidance on pediatric drug therapy, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in children, and contributing to the advancement of pediatric pharmacological practices.

Key Responsibilities

●       Evaluate and manage complex pediatric cases requiring specialized pharmacological intervention.

●       Provide guidance on the selection, dosing, monitoring, and adjustment of medications for pediatric patients.

●       Collaborate with pediatricians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.

●       Conduct medication reviews to identify and mitigate potential drug-related issues.

●       Lead and participate in clinical research projects focused on pediatric pharmacology.

●       Develop and update protocols for pediatric drug trials and medication safety.

●       Stay updated on advancements in pediatric pharmacology and incorporate evidence-based practices.

●       Train and mentor medical staff, including pediatricians and pharmacists, on pediatric pharmacological practices.

●       Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including pediatric subspecialists, nursing staff, and clinical pharmacists, to optimize patient outcomes.

●       Serve as a resource for pediatric drug information and pharmacokinetics/dynamics.


Qualifications:

Education: Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with specialized training in Pediatrics and Pharmacology

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of post-Board Certification experience as a Specialist or Consultant in Infectious Diseases.

Certification:

Approved certifications include:

UK/Ireland: CCT/CCST

USA/Canada: ABMS/RCPSC

Australia/New Zealand: Fellowship of the Royal Colleges

South Africa: M.Med/CMSA

Certificate of Specialization from countries such as France, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Denmark.

License: MOH license or eligibility to obtain one.
