We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated technician to join our team full time and support the maintenance and operation of our cutting-edge remotely operated unmanned vessel. This unique vessel integrates advanced technologies and systems, requiring an individual with a strong technical background and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
As a technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of the vessel. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the following systems:
• Propulsion Systems: Diesel engines, waterjets, and fuel systems.
• Power Systems: Generators, inverters, and electrical systems (DC and AC).
• Navigation Systems: Redundant navigation and vessel control systems.
• Communication Systems: IP-based vessel control via 4G and SATCOMS.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on engines, waterjets, and other mechanical systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in electrical and power systems, including inverters and batteries.
• Maintain and troubleshoot navigation and communication systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Perform diagnostics on the vessel control system and ensure its connectivity over IP networks.
• Collaborate with the team to implement upgrades and modifications as required.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities and system performance.
Skills
Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience with diesel engines, waterjets, and marine propulsion systems.
• Solid knowledge of AC and DC power systems, including inverters and batteries.
• Familiarity with IP-based control systems, 4G, and SATCOM communication technologies.
• Understanding of redundant navigation systems and vessel automation.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong technical background in marine systems, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience working with unmanned or autonomous vessels preferred.
• Certification in marine diesel engine maintenance or electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience with vessel control and telemetry systems.
