Jacobs has exciting opportunities for Graduate Urban Designers to work as part of our Buildings & Logistics team in Dubai. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work and add value on major projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support urban designers and planners in developing innovative urban design concepts, masterplans, and public realm strategies that align with local regulations, cultural context, and sustainability principles.
- Conduct research and analyse data related to land use, population trends, mobility patterns, environmental conditions, and socio‑economic factors to inform design decisions.
- Participate in site visits to observe urban character, community needs, environmental constraints, and opportunities to guide design outcomes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including community groups, government entities, and project partners to ensure their perspectives are integrated into design proposals.
- Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS), urban design software, and visualization tools to prepare plans, maps, diagrams, and presentations that communicate design ideas clearly and effectively.
Here's what you'll need
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Urban Design, Urban Studies, Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, or a related field.
- Academic Excellence: Demonstrated strong academic performance.
- Drive and Determination: A passion for city-building and a commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Teamwork and Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively in diverse, multidisciplinary environments.
