Job Purpose
To analyze and disseminate research reports, competitor performance, market trends etc. by collecting, analysing and interpreting market data, ADNOC Distribution performance thereby help to derive data driven conclusions, qualitative and quantitative insights.
Key Accountabilities
Research and Benchmarking
- Support Manager in development of internal research techniques & capabilities through Customer Care Centre, online surveys etc. to enable access to actionable information.
- Constantly monitors market information from all possible sources (market intelligence consultants, publications, press reports, oil companies' reports, journals and publications, economic portals, international agencies etc.) relevant to overall Marco Environment, Oil and Gas Industry and ADNOC Distribution business.
- Conduct research and analysis of market trends, customer behaviour and profiles, and internal information in coordination with other departments in order to identify and promote changes and improvements of ADNOC Distribution’s performance.
- Conduct tactical studies related to brand health, customer segmentation, product performance etc. in coordination with various other departments like sales, retail etc. and with support of external survey agencies.
- Manage dashboard and report development and improvement efforts for syndicated research data to communicate key insights. Also develop and improve future analytics capabilities (process, technical, tools, etc.)
- Produce analytical models and reports which identify new performance insights and opportunities, enabling ADNOC Distribution to remain abreast of key industry trends and developments.
- Develops and presents periodic reports for circulation to management covering market analysis and findings, price information, actual data and projections and refining margin outlook.
- Prepare the regional and country wise assessment of fuel distribution products supply/demand balances, prices and medium/long term forecasts.
- Continuously search for new ways to improve market intelligence and industry analysis methodologies adopted to enable effective learning from industry best practices.
- Gather intelligence on competitors, prepare periodic reports covering market analysis and findings and provide relevant recommendations to provide requested qualitative insights for products and services provided by ADNOC Distribution.
Communication and Relationship Management
- Support Department Manager Economics & Research in communicating analysis and research reports to a variety of audiences through both written and oral communication.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders across ADNOC Distribution and beyond (e.g. Finance and Business Unit strategy teams)
- Provide ad-hoc strategy support to other teams within ADNOC Distribution, as required.
Operational Plans
- Develop consistent and realistic long and short term operational plans for the Department in line with the Division objectives and manage the implementation of the approved long and short term plans and ensure they are effectively converted into its performance objectives to realise the Division Objectives and established service levels.
Budgets and Operational Plans
- Develop and manage the Department annual budget in line with the Division’s business objectives and operational plans ensuring that adequate funding provision is made for all Department activities.
- Monitor expenditure against approved Department budget on a regular basis; investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Statistics, Finance or any other relevant discipline
- 8 years of experience across various functions in Oil and Gas Retailer including Strategy, Corporate Planning, Retail etc.
- Experience of developing strategic plans for service-based industry.
- In depth knowledge of ADNOC Distribution’s business objectives, operations and of the regional laws and regulations
