Role Definition: 



The Caterpillar Enterprise Strategy Group is seeking an Analytics Project Leader to pair quantitative techniques with business acumen, providing data-driven insight and analysis in support of our Rental & BCP Growth Plans with dealers.




What You Will Do:



  • Utilizing multiple data sets throughout the enterprise and dealer network to identify data discrepancies, patterns, trends, and business insights.
  • Serve as a primary analytics partner to project teams, dealers, and cross‑functional stakeholders, ensuring analytical solutions directly support business decision‑making for Rental and BCP Growth projects.
  • Develop analytics tools and solutions in partnership with business stakeholders supporting dealer growth plans.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives for enterprise leadership, dealer partners, and cross‑functional teams

What You Have: 



Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.



Business Data Analysis: Knowledge of business data analysis; ability to collect, identify, analyze and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.



Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.



Business Assessment: Knowledge of the activities, tasks, practices and deliverables for assessing and documenting business opportunities; ability to assess the benefits, risks, and success factors of potential applications



Research Analysis: Knowledge of the concepts, methodologies and methods of research analysis; ability to locate, interpret and evaluate research findings compiled and documented by others




What you have:



  • Intermediate to advanced Data Visualization (PowerBI) and Relational Database (SQL) skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytical insights into clear, actionable information for non-technical business audiences.
  • Extensive experience in Accuracy/Attention to Detail, Effective Communications, Business Data Analysis and Research Analysis
  • Working knowledge of Product/Solution Design Development, Technical Documentation and Requirements Analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing, economics, statistics, or a similar field with quantitative coursework

Additional Information: To be reviewed 



  • Prior experience in dealer-facing roles
  • Analytical programming experience (Microsoft Power Automate, Python etc)
  • Demonstrated Leadership attributes experience (Intellectual Curiosity, Good Business Skills/Judgement and Courage/Emotional Intelligence)
  • This role will require working 5 days in the office
  • Moderate travel required (10% of working time)
