Job Description
Job Title: Telecommunication Engineer - UAE National only
Sector: Rail / Metro / Large Infrastructure Projects (Telecom Systems)
Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Job Summary
The Telecommunication Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining telecommunication systems across assigned projects. The role includes preparing technical documentation, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards. The Telecommunication Engineer supports project execution from design to handover, ensuring high-quality engineering solutions that meet project timelines and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of telecommunication systems.
Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to prepare telecom deliverables.
Prepare BOQs, technical submittals, and method statements as required.
Coordinate with project teams, consultants, vendors, and clients to ensure alignment on telecom requirements.
Conduct site surveys and support troubleshooting, system configuration, and integration activities.
Ensure systems comply with safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports and KPIs.
Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.
Support Testing & Commissioning teams during FAT, SAT, and handover activities.
Identify risks and propose mitigation plans.
Ensure documentation accuracy and maintain updated as-built drawings.
Support commercial and procurement teams with technical evaluations.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 4 years of experience in telecommunication engineering, preferably within metro/railway or large infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of telecom systems such as:
Fiber optics, data networks, IP systems
CCTV, PA, Radio Systems, Access Control
Wired and wireless communication systems
Experience working in multicultural and fast-paced environments.
Strong coordination and communication skills.
Education & Certifications
University Degree in Engineering (Electronic / Telecommunication / Computer Engineering).
Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.
Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
