Job Purpose

Provide process safety expertise in developing and implementing process safety requirements including policies, programs and procedures for safe operations and integrity of assets across ADNOC & Group Companies. Monitor to ensure that essential elements of process safety management are addressed and incorporated during the lifecycle of operating facilities and projects within ADNOC Group companies. Provide expertise in the technical evaluation of process safety issues and ensure proper hazard identification and risk assessments are performed in line with ADNOC’s Codes of Practice and applicable international standards.




Job Specific Accountabilities

•    Establish, develop and review process safety management policies, systems, procedures and guidelines for ADNOC & Group Companies.
•    Provide guidance and support on process safety issues during the concept, FEED, Engineering, construction, commissioning, operational and decommissioning phases of facilities/ projects in ADNOC Group.
•    Participate in Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) study, Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and other risk evaluation studies and process safety workshops for existing and new facilities.
•    Monitor to ensure that there is consistent strategy and execution of Health, Safety and Environment Critical Equipment Systems (HSECES) identification, operations, maintenance etc across the ADNOC Group Companies as part of Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS). 
•    Collaborate with Group Companies to assess requirements for safe operating procedures to ensure proper maintenance and integrity of HSECES is performed.
•    Participate in technical design reviews and procedural changes for all Management of Change (MOC) activities, plant modification related to technology and facilities.
•    Develop programs to improve process safety culture and monitor the improvement of process safety culture across the ADNOC Group Companies; provide updates, guidance and clarifications on existing laws and regulations regarding process safety related issues and advice on establishing the best practice standards.
•    Participate in process risk management audits and their follow up on the areas for improvement as required for proper implementation.
•    Compile and review process safety performance reports and makes recommendations for improvement of process safety management.
•    Participate in process safety incidents’ investigations and follow-up.
•    Verify the implementation of process safety management policies, systems, procedures and guidelines for ADNOC & Group Companies.
•    Collate and compile the Process Safety Key Performance Indicators.
•    Analyse the Process Safety performance to identify key areas of improvement, prepare updates to present the performance at various arenas.
•    Provide necessary advice on the enhancement of the Process Safety Performance and the reporting dashboards.
•    Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Management to fully contribute to the wide range of unit activities.




Minimum Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent discipline. 




Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

9 years of experience in process safety or related role in a petrochemical environment.




Professional Certifications

Certified Process Safety Professional is preferable
