Job Title: Commis Chef

Responsibilities

Assist senior chefs in the daily preparation and cooking of menu items, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation are consistently met. Learn and work across various sections of the kitchen, gaining a comprehensive understanding of all culinary functions. Adhere strictly to all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Ensure that all ingredients are correctly prepared, stored, and rotated to minimize waste and maintain freshness. Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy work station at all times. Follow recipes and presentation specifications precisely as instructed by the Head Chef or Sous Chef. Contribute positively to the kitchen team, demonstrating a collaborative and professional attitude.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment or a recognized culinary qualification is highly desirable. A genuine passion for cooking and a strong desire to build a career in the culinary arts. Basic understanding of fundamental cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn from senior chefs. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
