Roles & Responsibilities
Ensures that Ophthalmological care rendered meets Joint Commission standards.
3.2 Monitors within established guidelines the quality of care provided. Initiates and participates in review/study of difficult and special cases.
Monitors the eye care rendered on a daily basis to ensure that Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital standards are met.
Keeps informed as to current developments in the field of ophthalmology.
Participates in weekly rounds and peer reviews.
Coordinates with the HOD in planning programs, integrating the curative and preventive aspect of total patient care.
Participates in the implementation of approved curative/preventive programs as they relate to Ophthalmology.
Participates in QA programs as requested by the Medical Director.
Orients new staff when requested to do so.
Communicates regularly with HOD and other members of the service.
Takes an active role in teaching activities provided for nursing & ancillary staff.
Participates on committees as requested by Medical Director.
Strictly observes organization’s medical regulations and policies especially those related to infection control, patient safety, patient assessment and patient care.
Performs other miscellaneous related duties as requested by the head of general clinic.
Desired Candidate Profile
Graduate from an accredited school of Medicine with an MBBS degree.
Post-Graduate Masters degree or equivalent Fellowships approved by DOH.
Minimum of five years experience in the practice as Ophthalmologist post certification.
Current licensure in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
