Overview

A rapidly scaling global Fin Tech platform is seeking a Head of AI to lead the development of next-generation AI-powered products, intelligent automation, recommendation systems, and AI-native engineering capabilities. The company operates a large-scale, real-time financial platform serving tens of millions of users across more than 150 markets and regions, with billions in daily transaction activity. The organization is investing heavily in AI as a strategic pillar to enhance customer experience, platform intelligence, automation, and developer productivity.

This is a high-impact leadership role for an individual eager to shape AI strategy and architecture on a global scale, addressing complex real-world challenges in recommendation systems, LLM applications, AI infrastructure, and intelligent automation.

Responsibilities

Define and execute the company’s AI vision, roadmap, and technical strategy across multiple AI domains. Lead and scale a high-performing AI engineering and algorithms team. Drive the development of AI-powered capabilities, including: Large Language Models (LLMs) Intelligent customer interaction systems Personalized recommendation systems AI-native engineering productivity initiatives Build scalable AI platforms, reusable infrastructure, and production-grade ML systems. Lead deployment of recommendation and personalization pipelines, including: Retrieval Ranking Re-ranking Recommendation optimization Architect and productionize LLM-powered applications leveraging: Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Fine-tuning Agent frameworks Multi-modal AI workflows Enterprise knowledge systems Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business leadership to align AI investments with measurable business impact. Foster a strong engineering culture, technical standards, and talent development practices within the AI organization. Stay ahead of emerging trends in generative AI, AI infrastructure, developer tooling, and applied AI systems.

Requirements

Required:

Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines; advanced degrees preferred. 8+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with prior experience leading technical teams or large-scale AI initiatives. Proven experience deploying AI systems into production at scale. Strong hands-on experience with recommendation systems, including: Retrieval Ranking Re-ranking Personalization systems Deep practical experience building and deploying LLM applications, including: Prompt engineering Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Fine-tuning Agent workflows AI evaluation frameworks Experience building enterprise-grade AI knowledge systems and scalable AI infrastructure. Strong business and product understanding, with the ability to translate AI capabilities into measurable operational impact. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

Experience with leading global technology companies, large-scale consumer platforms, or AI-native organizations. Experience building AI platforms, MLOps ecosystems, or internal AI infrastructure frameworks. Familiarity with AI coding assistants and AI-native engineering workflows. Mandarin Chinese language capability (Professional working proficiency) is highly preferred, as the role involves frequent collaboration with regional stakeholders and engineering teams across APAC.
