Contracts engineer/administrator

Supporting buildings, villas, mixed-use developments, and theme park projects across the Middle East, ensuring effective contract administration and compliance with contractual requirements. Prepares, reviews, and manages contract documentation, variations, claims, and correspondence while coordinating with project teams and contractors.

Supports commercial and legal processes through documentation control, reporting, and stakeholder communication, ensuring smooth contract execution and project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing accurate cost advice and reporting.
- Analyzing project data efficiently.
- Setting up and managing workshops to achieve the required cost savings.
- Providing ad-hoc high-level strategic proposals as required.
- Delivering projects, commissions, and professional assignments.
- Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful project completion; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control.
- Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision.
- Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner.
- Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
- Informing themselves of the relevant quality, environmental, safety, and occupational health policies, manuals, and procedures and ensuring continued compliance while employed.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor in quantity surveying, engineering, or cost engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 10-15 years experience in contracts management including overall responsibility for contract management on large-scale projects.
- Preferably a chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
- Previous technical delivery experience gained within a global construction consultancy.
- Pre and post-contract experience.
- Experience working in a variety of sectors and projects in the Middle East region.
- Experience providing advice and administering contractual matters.
- Good technical writing and communication skills (both internal and external).
- Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute.
- A team player with a can-do attitude; outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
- Direct experience managing workload distribution, execution of work, and personnel management.
- Formation and administration of (sub)contracts: pre-qualification, compilation of bid requests, receipt of bids, bid evaluation, award, monitoring contractor performance, back charges, resolution of claims and disputes.
- Technical and administrative knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, government and commercial procurement regulations and practices, policies, procedures, and work practices.
- Demonstrated experience in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning, and scheduling.
- Thorough knowledge of prime contracts management administration as well as (sub)contract formation and administration, execution office and field procedures and documents relating to a multi-discipline construction project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working internationally, preference for GCC.
