The Senior Technical Architect is responsible for leading and managing all technical and design coordination aspects of high-end interior fit-out projects, including joinery, glass, metal works, architectural finishes, and MEP integration. The role involves reviewing project requirements from tender and BOQ stage through execution and handover, ensuring full technical compliance, constructability, coordination, and timely approvals from clients and consultants.
The Senior Technical Architect acts as the primary technical interface between design consultants, clients, project management teams, subcontractors, factory production teams, and site execution teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects in accordance with approved designs, specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Lead technical coordination for interior fit-out projects involving architectural finishes, joinery, glass, metal, and MEP systems.
Study project BOQs, specifications, tender documents, IFC drawings, and contract requirements to fully understand project scope and technical deliverables.
Lead the preparation, review, and coordination of shop drawings, detailed technical drawings, coordinated ceiling layouts, builder’s work drawings, and as-built documentation.
Manage and monitor SD logs, material submittal logs, RFI logs, sample approvals, and technical tracking schedules.
Review design intent and ensure technical feasibility, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
Coordinate architectural, structural, interior, joinery, and MEP disciplines to eliminate clashes and ensure smooth project execution.
Oversee detailed joinery design coordination including custom furniture, wall cladding, feature elements, counters, wardrobes, vanities, decorative ceilings, and specialized finishes.
Coordinate glass and metal works including partitions, balustrades, decorative metal screens, cladding systems, fabricated architectural elements, and bespoke installations.
Ensure proper integration of MEP services with ceilings, joinery, architectural finishes, and interior elements.
Liaise directly with clients and consultants to discuss technical comments, design revisions, material approvals, and drawing reviews.
Lead consultant and client coordination meetings to finalize approvals and close technical comments within project timelines.
Ensure all technical submissions, shop drawings, and material approvals are properly reviewed and approved before production and installation.
Coordinate with factory production teams and suppliers to ensure fabrication details align with approved drawings and site conditions.
Conduct technical site inspections to verify quality, dimensions, installation standards, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Support project teams in resolving technical and site-related issues efficiently.
Monitor technical progress and support project management teams in achieving project milestones and handover requirements.
Participate in value engineering initiatives and provide alternative technical solutions while maintaining design intent and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, consultant standards, QA/QC requirements, and health & safety procedures.
Mentor and guide junior technical staff, coordinators, and draftsmen where applicable.
Prepare technical reports, progress updates, coordination records, and management presentations as required.
